Through the example of public health persuasive communication, the objective is to analyze the relation between communication's reception and action. The communication shows, on the one hand, that psychosocial researches on public health communication reception can be heuristic for communication science (SIC) to understand logics of action. In addition, it considers the new prospects opened by the recent concept of committing communication. The implications for research in public health communication and more largely in communication science (SIC), are also considered.
