First-principles study of ferroelectricity in oxide superlattices

The aim of the present thesis is to investigate, from first-principles, the ferroelectricproperties and related phase transition behaviors in perovskite type compounds. Wewill not focus only on the bulk perovskite systems, but also on related layered superlatticeswhere the interface may play an important role and induce new phenomena.
