This thesis proposes to study two distinct phonological processes that are reducing unstressed vowels to schwa found in some Italian dialects and Raddoppiamento Fonosintattico induced stress RF now. It seems that the existence of these two phenomena (RF-induced by stress and vowel reduction) is in complementary distribution since the analysis process (no-) vowel reduction coratin would highlight the structural motivation of the inconsistency. This thesis will update and verify the prediction with diatopic data. Indeed, coratin has a constraint that the vowels are carried unreduced making RF triggered by stress incompatible with reducing localized dialects located in the central-southern part of the peninsula.
