Paris is an important tourism destination in the world with more than 20 millions of tourists every year. While studies are still relatively absent on tourism in Paris, we purpose to contribute to the discussion. After a state of art to identify the main themes addressed in the tourism and the city, and the Paris case, we chose to focus this PHD on tourists through their practices and mobilities. At a time where many are discussing on the metropolitan scale of Paris, we wanted to think of Parisian space tourists from their vacations their routes, their practices, their mobility and their experience of the destination. The goal of this doctoral work is to understand how individuals make and produce the tourist area and identify what (s) level (s) tourism practices are. To do this, a survey based on interviews and an observation were carried out under a fieldwork during the summer of 2012 and until April 2013. An analysis of practices and attractions as well as places where they are taking place is the heart of this work mobility.
