The first part of this document summarizes my professional activities; the second one describes the research activities lead since 2005, on the basis of articles published in international journals. These research activities deal with the materials behavior and the characterization of the so called " Process-Part-Environment-Material " interactions. During the life cycle of a product (processing and use, mainly), couplings between the service conditions (thermo-mechanical loadings, environment) and the microstructure, influence strongly the short or long term response of the material and, consequently, of the structure. The main objective is to describe these links and to assess constitutive laws and failure criteria, including the cases of complex loadings or fatigue. A focus is especially given on the concern of speeding-up the characterization for both the fatigue and ageing properties. These approaches can be applied considering the mean response of a given volume, but are also suitable to investigate the numerous scales involved, from the basic physical mechanisms to the structure response, thanks to the description of the thermo-mechanical and micro-structural gradients.
