The tourism practices in self-organized travelling in China

The evolution of society leads to the rapid growth of tourism in the society. In China, over the past decades of fast economical growth, the tourism demonstrates a vigorous development. With the improving of the population quality and the accumulation of their travelling experiences, there are members of travellers, who want to distinguish themselves from the mass tourists. Therefore, self-organized travelling, as a different way of tourism, is becoming one of the favourite tourism practices among travellers. Besides, the places like Yunnan in China, where there are the natural landscapes and the original cultures, become the preferred destinations of selforganized travelling. This study aims to realize self-organized travelling in China. Analyzing the questionnaire surveys and interview surveys carried out with the self-organized travellers met in Yunnan is helpful to understand the self-organized-trip participants, the procedures of realization of selforganized travelling and its development in China. In addition, through the analysis of interviews of the people living in Yunnan, we can obtain a better understanding of the influences that self-organized travelling has on its destinations in China. Ultimately, this study may contribute to the enrichment of knowledge on what the tourism is in China, especially in the field of alternative tourism or "otherwise" tourism, hoping to have a reflection on the anthropological tourism and sustainable tourism.
