Transient fault phenomena are studied and a new fault location approach is developed. The approach is based on the exploitation of a chaiaeterisric résonance frequency of signais measured in the HV/MV ration. An algorithm has been created, developed and tested. It is validated with po system simulations and with measured fault data of real faults. The influence of différent parameters on the algorithm accuracy is examined and explairsed.
