Sedimentological and structural evolution of the Tertiary Dévoluy Basin, external western Alps, SE France

This thesis documents the synorogenic sedimentary and structual evolution of the 80 km2 Dévoluy basin (Hautes-Alpes, southeastem France), a remnant of the Alpine foreland basin, during the Paleogene and Neogene. Dévoluy is located at a critical break in the depositional and kinematic patterns of the external Alpine domains. Therefore, another component of the thesis is to discuss the history of Dévoluy in the context of the Alpine foreland basin as a whole.
