The Algerian industrial companies are known as big consumers of raw materials and energy and as heavy polluters above all. Taking into account the actual environmental situation, these industrial companies are increasingly committed to take charge of the environmental matters by adopting the certification processes according to the referential ISO 14001. With the advent of this referential the notion of environmental performance has regained interest. In this context, a lot of methods, approaches and models have emerged as tools to assist the integration of the environment into production. The work carried out within the framework of this thesis aims to contribute, in the current proposals, by the three categories of tools, but following several aspects that frame environmental issues (environmental analysis, environmental diagnosis, evaluation of environmental performance, management of the environmental knowledge, capitalization of the environmental knowledge, construction of an environmental culture based on the mobilization of environmental actors,...). Thus, an enhancement of these aspects was carried out by a combined use of LCA / E-FMEA- which was followed by a proposal of a process of evaluating environmental performance based on the typology of significant environmental impacts. Finally, a proposal for a new model called DIC illustrates the relationship between some environmental concepts (performance evaluation and knowledge management, for example). Obviously, all of our contributions have been fleshed out into case studies on several industrial sectors in Algeria.
