Human Computer Interaction focuses on several key points: establishing and maintaining communication, understanding signals and lastly reaction. My research is part of the theme of Human-Computer Interaction/Communication/Relationship in order to help disabled people. In my projects, I discussed the problem of people with disabilities regarding four areas: * adaptive communication aid software (text input) * emotional interaction (computational model of emotions) * cognitive stimulation, * the companion robot or artificial companion This dissertation also addresses the multidisciplinary subject of acceptability and mutual understanding in interactions and evaluating the acceptability of a robot as an interaction partner for humans.
