The study concerns active control methods of the transonic buffet over a supercritical airfoil by using two strategies : thermic and pneumatic. Numerical simulation of the natural flow obtained by solving the averaged Navier-Stokes equations allows reproducing the different configurations (with or without buffet) with respect to experimental investigation. Mean flow, turbulent flow and pressure signals put forward the way of functioning and the performances of the control methods. The buffet is postponed or canceled allowing an increase of the aircraft flight envelope. A parametric study of both actuators is done in constant and retroactive functioning. The pneumatic strategy results are strengthened and deepened by an experimental investigation.
