Cambios socio-espaciales en el centro de Santiago de Chile: Formas de anclarse y prácticas urbanas de los nuevos habitantes

The thesis has like geographic object the commune of Santiago located in the central part of the city of Santiago, specifically four zones with greater social, urban and territorial transformation, or by the arrival of new inhabitants, the new construction of building, urban works and of road improvement, as well as by the arrival of new commercial and cultural supplies all of them indications of processes of partner-urban changes. One investigates on the elections and residential anchorages of the inhabitants of income average and average stops that arrive at new and recycled houses in four zones of transformation of the commune of Santiago from beginnings of the nineties. It does not lose of view that at the center of Santiago also inhabitants of smaller income arrive, especially new urban poor men represented by migrant interns and Latin American for those who the center of Santiago has become a significant space in the last ten years. In these four zones they conjugate a significant digit of partner-urban mutations that they reveal the arrival of inhabitants of majors income or income similar to the preexisting residents: verticalización through the construction of buildings in height, recycling and old rehabilitation of construction and recovery of spaces public. To this last one one adds the renovation and entrance of commercial supplies such as coffees, galleries of art, restaurants, teterías, among others consumption modalities more and more you falsify that they would be signs of a process of residential gentrification, cultural and of partner-space change. The gentrification is a process of, space, commercial and cultural change of the central and pericentrales areas. Nevertheless, for the case of Santiago the gentrification is different : does not suppose an displacement of inhabitants of smaller income, but rather the invasion, the succession or the replacement of inhabitants of similars or superiors income with respect to the preexisting ones, but with majors demands of goods and services of cultural and commercial consumption.
