Modelling and characterisation of electric double layer supercapacitors used in power electronics

A bibliographical study has allowed to make the statement of developed technologies and potential applications, to explain the principle and the physics of these devices and especially to establish a theoretical model which take in consideration the different phenomena linked to the electric double-layer characteristics and to processes and materials used in supercapacitors manufacturing. From this theory, we have elaborated an accurate electric model for supercapacitors. The degree of complexity of the model was selected in a manner that it will not penalise neither fidelity (model precision), neither accessibility (determination and measurement of the model parameters), nor exploitation (use and integration of the model in simulation tools and supports). A well defined experimental procedure has been established for parameters extraction and an important work of experimentation and simulation has allowed to validate the proposed model.
