Spectral and spectral-element methods for the 2D and 3D elastodynamics equations in heterogeneous media

In this thesis, we study spectral and spectral-element methods for the 2D and 3D elastodynamics equations in heterogeneous media. Details are given about the theoretical aspects, numerical implementation, validation tests, and application to real geophysical examples.
