L'architecture de l'information : quelle réalité conceptuelle ?

This article examines the concept of information architecture in its historical emergence and its intersection with different disciplines. From the point of view of the Information and Communication Sciences, we focus on two shared issues: the knowledge organization for quality and fluidity of access and reference to the spatial metaphor, not really new. The renewal concept is mainly about the change of scale and the focus on user experience in its interaction with the Web on different media. The article concludes on the emerging professional reality, noting the importance of the team project bringing together diverse skills: technology, knowledge management and Web design, the latter being particularly acclaimed today.
