Ni prescrire, ni laisser faire : une analyse exploratoire des logiques de production de l'innovation dans les organisations.

The purpose of the research is to describe and analyze the way product innovations are produced within organizations. We are interested in innovation production logics, i.e in how prescribed organizational structures and actual individuals' strategies dynamically articulate. This research question has a in-between positioning, since it has partly been addressed by two mutually exclusive research programs : the Management of Innovation on the one hand, and the Sociology of Innovation in the other hand. The research strategy consists in observing 3 case studies : 3 entities dedicated to software product innovation. They are a Hewlett-Packard R&D lab ; a Xerox technology transfer lab ; and a French start-up. They were all observed in a direct and longitudinal fashion
