Change has a trickledown effect on many dimensions of job and it has been considered as an important stressor in today's competitive environment. Changes in external or internal organizational environment also change the perceptions of the employees related to their identification in the organization and this may lead to ill-health depending on how the employees cope to it i.e. proactively or emotionally. This paper aims to briefly discuss different coping mechanisms particularly the multifaceted social support, which has been often considered conceptually to be separate from coping though it is closely related to coping and wellbeing. The conceptual basis of such relationships needs more discussion which we tried to address in this article with particular reference to some "interesting/conflicting results" e.g. the negative impact of received social support on well-being. Some recommendations have been suggested in the end for future studies on social support coping.
