Frère et sœurs dans la poésie de Marceline Desbordes-Valmore

Marceline Desbordes-Valmore left behind important poems written to, and about, her sisters and her brother, poems that play a role in defining her posotion as a subject of poetic discourse. This papers sonsiders the position of women in relation to both the political fraternity and the fraternity of poets in the 19th Century France; then considers these poems at the intersection of real-life family experience and textual heritage. It attempts to bring aout the original endeavour of symbolization and universalization undertaken from the position assigned to the sister, and the woman poet, by culture and language.
