Regards croisés entre l'animal et l'homme: petit exercice de phénoménographie équitable

This paper provides a detailed description of two encounters with animals. The first one concerns a female macaque that I encountered in the forest of Kintzheim, and the second, more familiar, takes place at home, with Moksha, my dog. I present an analysis of the modalities of presence of the human, the monkey and the dog, and of their respective competence in the interaction. This opens a more general debate on the possible insights provided by a comparative phenomenographic approach to humans and animals in the social sciences.
