Avaliação da sustentabilidade hídrica da cultura canavieira através do uso de indicadores extraídos de modelos espaciais.

The objective of this paper has been perform an analytical assessment of the potential for sugarcane water sustainability for four microregions of Goiás State in Brazil: Sudoeste de Goiás, Vale do Rio dos Bois, Quirinópolis and Meia Ponte; from the use of indices derived from public secondary data or data extracted from simple models through geoprocessing techniques in a Geographic Information System (GIS). These indexes comprise indicators of the Indicators System of Sugarcane Water Sustainability Assessment - SISH-Cana (Ferraz, 2012). The results show that the Sudoeste de Goiás and Quirinópolis microregions exhibit higher favorability, from the point of view of water sustainability because there are areas where culture can be grown in dry system and still rely on available higher and regular water volumes to supply the demand of sugarcane cultivation in the areas of compulsory irrigation.
