The country of " Asse - Vaïre - Var - Verdon " (" A3V ") spans the South-eastern part of the Alpes de Haute Provence department. The article analyses the management of the agricultural land of this territory where there is little farming (it only occupies 12.3% of the total land superficy) which is decreasing in the long-term, and where new competitions have been developing for two generations, mainly linked to the arrival of new populations and demographic growth. The text analyses in detail the farming land strategy, notably using statistics from Graphic Parcel Register built from farmers' CAP declarations. It integrates this land management into a broader environment where both intervene the new inhabitants of those countrysides (who strengthen land pressure) and politicians (who try to organize it).
