Our study analyses the way members of the notability are linked to districts' territories, during the first third of the 19th century. First of all, we shall study the modalities of territorial settlements, through the way to settle that heads of departmental and district's councils use. Therefore, it analyses how the prefect, using the power of those men, stands in the middle of a network , settling his influence, and covering the whole departmental territory. Then, as we go on analysing, we will see, through three examples the link between, being closured in a territory and going by its frontiers. Those examples will be a way, by getting close individuals and families, local settlement and broad influence, to understand how the notables' influence gets stronger and is settled, through time and space.
