The approximate and proper nouns This article takes stock of the phonetic criteria of the approximate. It then examines the semantic hypothesis of clashing points of view with regard to proper nouns subjected to the approximate, comparing their denominative value with an associative logic brought about by paronymy with a similar signifier. The referent acquires new meanings in context. The accumulation of the denominative value and an identifying general/exemplar interpretative value functions with proper nouns whether they are syntactically modified or not.
