Senegalese emigration: South-South as well as South-North

or a long time, Senegalese migration was almost exclusively directed towards the former French colonies in Africa and the colonial metropolis, but it has become multipolar and fluctuating. Africa is now the main destination for Senegalese emigrants, accounting for almost half of all departures. We need to identify the causes of these trends, distinguishing between traditional migratory factors and "new migratory logics".
