Owing to the increasing of the importance of appearance in the contemporary industrialized societies, any individual labeled as ugly is most of the time belittled, rejected or ostracized. Weaken by other people's opinion, he is ashamed of what he is given to see of himself to such an extend that he often comes to generate some hate towards himself and then becomes in his own eyes a loathing and disgusting object. As he is completely unable to be different of what he is, he cannot find any other solution than to attempt suicide.
