This analysis of the Daza of Niger's kinship terminology is the first chapter of the first part of Catherine BAROIN's book which was published in 1985, Anarchie et cohésion sociale chez les Toubou : les Daza Kécherda (Niger). The semantic principles underlying the structure of this terminology are analyzed, in order to to further find out how they are at play in daily social facts (cognatism, opposition between kin and in-laws, age and gender hierarchies).
