A la recherche de la logophoricité en arménien

Claude Hagege first proposed the term "logophoric", initially applied to african languages. Armenian, an indo-european pro-drop language, has two third person pronouns: ան, an 'he', and ինք, ink' 'he, himself', the last having a specific distribution. Grammars mostly present this pronoun as a reflexive one (what is true on Genitive when it is a possessive) or as an emphatic pronoun when applied to the subject. M. Sigler (2001) show that ink' has some logophoric properties, and caracterize an as an anti-logophoric pronoun. In this short contribution we aim 1) to present and discuss Sigler's contribution to this question, 2) to identify by a corpus analysis different types of use for ink', and 3) to interprete this data and show how the logophoric interpretation is linked with the remaining meanings of the pronoun.
