L'histoire économique globale

This book is an introduction to global economic history. First part deals with eurocentrism, long distance trade in Eurasia and historical transfers of techniques from East to West. Second part is dedicated to the world-system concept and its use to feature the Afro-eurasian interconnections during four millenia; it also presents a new approach to the problems of hegemony within the successive world-systems. Third part tries to show how global economic history can change our view on the formation of western capitalism.
