Chant et musique dans les romans des frères Mann et d'Alfred Döblin (1901-1929)

With the exception of the novels of Goethe, the German novel was recognized late on the international level, unlike the German music. Narrative and music are intertwined in Germany. From The Buddenbrooks to Berlin Alexanderplatz, passing through Der Untertan, this study shows how the novel asserts its critical and rational superiority over the novel.
