L'hypermédia Internet

In ten years, the Internet has taken an increasingly large place in the media: new reading practices (increased written press readership, hypertextual reading of the news at any time in any place, etc.), growth, diversification and sharpened competition among information sites (news blogs, portals, platforms, etc.). Which of the changes made by the Internet are the most significant? What is it that characterises the Internet as a medium? The overall approach adopted sets out to offer a perspective on the main features of the Internet hypermedia: it is fragmented, network-based, hypertextual, multimedia (implying a convergence of all content), deterritorialised, decentralised, holding a promise of interactivity, multifarious (expanding number of sites), etc. This book offers an expert overview for all those who are convinced of the importance of this new "hypermedia", and want to understand its specific characteristics and attendant issues.
