The difficulty of reading this Appendix comes that Spinoza, in the first paragraph, made the resume of what he has developed in the first part of the Ethics. This text both short and dense can be, despite the place it occupies, an interesting entry in Ethics for the one who is somewhat put off by the demonstration more geometrico. We therefore propose in this article to explain and comment the first lines of this Appendix, concerning the properties of God, which provide a number of keys to understanding the rest of this text as well as the first part in its entirety.
