Trends and issues in mitigating traffic noise through quiet pavements

This paper concentrates on the analysis of trends and issues in the mitigation of road traffic noise through the use of quiet pavements. Quiet pavements were listed and analysed. Results demonstrate that it still remains crucial that experiences are shared in order to permit that innovations and products developed for use within specific member states may be equally beneficial or valid for use in a wider area. Furthermore, there is still a need for further research in the field of texture versus bulk properties and their synergetic effect on noise generation. Outcomes are expected to benefit both practitioners and researchers.
