The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing a fuse, comprising a step of defining the geometry of at least one fusible strip (16) employed in the fuse, in which step the following parameters are considered: a nominal current density (i16) conducted by the fusible strip (16); a nominal operating voltage of the fuse; a Joule integral corresponding, in the pre-arcing regime, to at least one part (18) of the fusible strip; and a Joule integral corresponding, in the arcing regime, to this part (18) of the fusible strip.
