The aim of this paper is to evaluate legal and ethical legitimacy of the new tools of control and disciplinary in the firm. Can these new tools, using information and communication technology, be coherent with the ethical preoccupations of a firm ? The philosophy of Bentham can be useful to answer this question. Using utilitarianism to analyse this situation we can conclude that the new tools used by the firm to control their employees on the one hand and corporate social responsibility on the other and are not necessarily in contradiction.
