              The literature of marketing has become interested lately in the strategic levers of yield management and their positive effect on the performance of businesses. Consequently, No valid measuring instrument -in psychometric terms- however, has made it possible to measure perception of yield management practices in companies and, particularly, in hotels. This paper attempts to propose a reliable and valid measuring scale of 13 items based on the results of empirical research realized on a sample of hotels operating in France and India. The main contribution of this research is the integration of a scale to measure the perception of managers concerning the application of yield-management practices in hotels. Results of this study show that the scale measures two main dimensions or factors related to the perception of yield-management practices: the strategy dimension and the personnel dimension. The measurement scale proposed can be a useful tool for improving the operational performance of hotels utilizing yield-management practices. The scale proposed in this work was created with the intention of providing hotels with a measurement instrument that they can utilize when confronting a decision to use one or more yield-management practices.
